Comprehensive forensic assessments built on clinical expertise
Delivering clear and thorough report development, from document review to case formulation, freeing clinicians and family law attorneys to efficiently and confidently serve more clients.
Forensic assessment and evaluation is complex, both due to the sensitive subject matter and the many different sources of data required to conduct comprehensive, accurate, and objective evaluations. The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts suggests that a team approach to conducting these complex evaluations is appropriate (AFCC, 2006).
About Grounded Insights
I partner with evaluators to offer grounded, clinical insights and report-writing support so providers can deliver clear and thorough forensic assessments without time-consuming material review and drafting.
I see this as a true collaboration. Together we’ll identify your needs and the scope of our work. I’ll review and synthesize materials, conferring with you as appropriate, and submit a report that combines your views about cases with best practices and the law.
Services
Forensic writing
I write comprehensive evaluation reports that address concerns such as mental health and co-parenting problems and conflict. These complex reports incorporate interviews of the parties, psychological assessment (when applicable), home visits and direct observation of parent-child interaction (when applicable), thorough document review, and contacts with collateral sources into evaluation reports. I write reports for psychological assessments, Guardian Ad Litem recommendations, parental capacity evaluations, and custody evaluations. I also write parent coordinator responses.
Document review & analysis
Clinicians and attorneys often engage experts to review the work of other professionals to obtain a second opinion on a case formulation or to provide feedback on draft reports for clarity, coherence, and compliance with evidence-based practices and relevant statutes. My training and knowledge equip me with a unique lens to help evaluators identify strengths and weaknesses in their reports and case narratives.
Case formulation support
I conduct extensive document review of materials such as court filings, medical or mental health records, school records, client-submitted data, and other supplemental records. I review all data and deliver a list of file names for all submitted material and a summarized review of records that have the most direct bearing upon concerns.
Report editing & review
I offer strategic consultation for complex cases. I consider individual and comparative analysis of multiple people across dimensions identified by case-specific issues, relevant research, and clinical insights. I provide a summary of these elements and make recommendations to promote the current and future well-being and welfare of individuals, children, and families.
